The National Library for Health is project from the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement and is looking to pull together their vast portfolio of online training and teaching materials into one, centralised repository. Led by MyKnowledgeMap, in association with Intrallect, and powered by the IntraLibrary Repository system the NLH aims to be a powerful and flexible solution for creating, archiving and discovering learning resources.
MyKnowledgeMap are supplying a number of elements:
- Compendle–for gathering and organising resources
- QuestionBuilder–for creating interactive tests and quizzes
- Review Panel–for ensuring quality in all submitted resources
- Custom Web Portal–bringing all NLH functionality into one place
By intergrating these tools and services with the underlying IntraLibrary system it should make it quick and easy for guest users to discover resources and contributor users to create and store learning.
As well as being heavily involved in the planning of the tools integrations I have also been responsible for the design of the Custom Web Portal–creating an easy to use, block-based design that both meets the needs of the NHS users and the needs of the NHS brand.
Following the initial success of the early stages of this development, a similar solution is to be provided to the NHS for Education Scotland to allow them to manage and deliver their online training resources.
